Milverton 4 Wheel Drives, 2023-2024 (Milverton Drives Hockey)

                   The Milverton Four Wheel Drives continued their current  homestand  with a visit from the Minto 81’s . The team looked to be rested and eager for some top notch hockey action. Hopefully, the jolly man in the red suit treated the players well and that the spirit(s) of the season wouldn’t have any lingering effects. Time would tell ....

The Four Wheel Drives continued their extended home stand this past weekend with a Saturday night tilt with the Georgian Bay Apple Kings  and  then followed by a matinee meeting with the arch rival Durham Thundercats  Sunday afternoon. The team has managed to crawl out of the league basement and get within striking distance of the last seed in the AA portion of the league. It was indeed a big weekend for the black and gold and hopefully the spirit of the season would smile upon the hometown heroes .

With the season slipping into the back nine of the season the Four Wheel Drives were looking for a pick me up after a rough pair game of games last weekend. With the Lancers coming to the PERC on Saturday perhaps a great jousting match would be in the offing with both teams attempting to crawl their way out of the league basement.

         As the calendar moved into the month of December the Milverton Four Wheel Drives found themselves at the tail end of lengthy road schedule .  The first part of the season had the team playing eight games on the road and with the loss of Shelburne from the league only three games were played at home. However, the good news is, other than a visit to Cforth in January , the team will play the remainder of their games at the PERC. So perhaps the tide will turn for the good ship Four Wheel Drive in their quest to gain a top eight seed for the playoffs

       The Four Wheel Drives ended the month of November with a home and away split with the Tavistock Royals on Saturday in Tavistock and back home squaring off against the Seaforth Centenaires . The Milverton squad would be entering the weekend activities coming off their first victory last weekend against the Lucknow Lancers. Weekend action against perennial league powerhouses Seaforth and Tavistock would most certainly put the team’s moxie to task.
